General
Ungraded is a consignment-based marketplace specialising in "ungraded" or "raw" trading cards.
Buyers benefit from our ground-breaking 3D card imaging system, which provides them with an unparalleled level of detail and a full picture of card condition, allowing them to buy with confidence every time.
We invite sellers to submit their cards to us for us to handle imaging, listing (auction or fixed price), storage, insurance, onward postage to buyers, and customer service.
We operate Weekly Auctions and Fixed Price listings. We also run event or theme related special auctions. Within these, we have standard and Premier cards.
When a seller chooses an auction based listing for their card, they will be able to select from upcoming Weekly Auctions. If a seller chooses a Fixed Price listing, they can set an asking price and whether or not they are open to offers.
Cards submitted of particular value or significance may be selected by the Ungraded team as Premier cards, which receive additional marketing.
We display a condition band for every listing. This is designed as a guide only to make searching for cards easier and should not be relied upon. We use the following rules to set a card's condition band:
| Near mint or better | Lightly played | Moderately played | Heavily played | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Corner whitening or chipping | Minor | Moderate | Moderate to major | Major |
| Edge whitening or chipping | Minor | Moderate | Moderate to major | Major |
| Discolouration | None | Minor | Moderate | Major |
| Surface Indentations | Minor | Moderate | Moderate to major | Major |
| Creases | None | Minor | Moderate to major | Major |
| Scratches or scuffing | Minor | Moderate | Moderate to major | Major |
| Staining | None | Minor | Moderate to major | Major |
Buying
To start bidding on Ungraded, you must first sign up.
Bidding in auctions is simple. Just enter the maximum amount you are willing to bid on a listing, and we will automatically bid incrementally on your behalf, up to your maximum bid.
The bid increments are determined based on the current winning bid amount, ensuring fair and competitive bidding.
Life is stressful enough. So to eliminate the need for any last-second panic bidding - and the possibility of being sniped - we implement extended bidding in our auction-based listings.
Any listing that receives a bid within the last 5 minutes will automatically enter an extended bidding period of 3 minutes, following on from its original end time. Once extended bidding has begun, any new bids will reset the 3 minute timer. This continues for up to 15 minutes, at which point the timer will be reset to 1 minute each time. The auction will conclude when no further bids are made before the extended bidding timer runs out.
When another bidder submits a maximum bid lower than your maximum bid, we will automatically place a higher bid on your behalf following the bidding increments outlined below:
- £1 to £5 has a £0.20 bid increment
- £5 to £15 has a £0.50 bid increment
- £15 to £60 has a £1 bid increment
- £60 to £150 has a £2 bid increment
- £150 to £300 has a £5 bid increment
- £300 to £600 has a £10 bid increment
- £600 to £1500 has a £20 bid increment
- £1500 to £3000 has a £50 bid increment
- £3000+ has a £100 bid increment
When a bid is submitted that matches a maximum bid placed earlier, the original bidder will remain as the winner. The current bid will not be increased beyond the maximum bid.
Auction-based listings have a Buyer's Premium like traditional auctions. When you win a listing, you will be charged a Buyer's Premium in addition to the hammer price (winning bid amount). This premium is a fixed £0.30 plus a variable percentage based on the hammer price. Here are the variable rates:
- 20% up to the first £250
- 17.5% from £250 to £1,000
- 15% from £1,000 and up
For example, with a winning bid of £500, the Buyer's Premium would be £94.05, with the first £250 subject to a 20% rate (£50) and the remaining £250 subject to a 17.5% rate (£43.75), plus £0.30.
For Fixed Price listings, there are zero fees for buyers.
When you checkout, you'll be given the option to have your cards shipped to you or for us to store them. If you choose to have them shipped, we will apply a charge relative to their combined purchase values.

- £20 to £150 value, applies a £2.99 shipping fee (48 Hour Tracked)

We offer international shipping via Fedex. Please check our Shipping Calculator for shipping costs to your location.
You can also choose for us to store one or more cards and have them shipped at a later date.
If you've chosen to have your purchase cards shipped to you, our aim is to ship them within two working days.
If you choose for us to store your purchased cards, rather than have them shipped to you, you'll be able to list them for sale on the site yourself, through a Weekly Auction or as Fixed Price listings.
Alternatively, you can have them shipped to you at any time, with our shipping fees applying based on their combined purchase value.
No, bids are completely anonymised on Ungraded. While bid history is accessible for every auction listing, bidder identities are tokenized, ensuring your privacy.
We consider placing a bid a commitment to buy and do not allow bids to be cancelled in most circumstances. However, if you believe you have a good reason to cancel a bid, you can raise a ticket from the Bids & Offers section of your account and we will consider it. This should be done before the auction ends where possible.
When a bid is placed on an item, there is a commitment to buy (see Buyer Terms) to ensure that sellers are paid out in reasonable time and that orders are not repeatedly cancelled and re-listed. We will accept cancellations in some circumstances such as a clearly wrong max bid. We also allow all buyers a single one-off cancellation for any reason but please be aware the accounts with multiple cancelled orders will be restricted from using our site.
We do not accept part cancellations. If you need to cancel an order then we will cancel all items in that order and make them available to the sellers to re-list. This is to avoid people bidding on lots of items and the cherry picking the ones they want to keep at the end of the auction.
Grading from checkout
During checkout you can choose to have your purchased or stored cards sent directly to one of our grading partners. All you need to do is choose your preferred partner grading service and tick any extras you'd like. We'll then take care of shipping them to the grading partner. Once they arrive with the partner, your cards will become their responsibility and they will keep you informed of the submission progress.

Selling
Selling with Ungraded is simple, all you need to do is sign up and fill in a simple submission form. We'll notify you by email once we have approved your submission, before you ship your cards to us. After your cards have been processed and imaged, they will appear in your account for you to approve and choose from auction-based or Fixed Price listings.
We charge a flat £1 processing fee per consigned card. This fee is automatically deducted from your payout/s once your cards sell.
The processing fee covers our administration and card imaging costs, whilst also helping to maintain a minimum standard of cards offered on our platform.
No, we have no final value seller fees for auction based listings.
For Fixed Price listings, there is a Seller's Premium of 15% of the sale price. As an example, if your card sells for £110, the Seller's Premium would be £16.50.
There are no storage fees.
We currently only accept submissions of raw trading cards on the Ungraded marketplace.
We are aware of the potential for our technology to help with buying and selling other condition-sensitive collectibles, and we may explore these in the long-term future.
Unfortunately not at the moment but we plan to start accepting international submissions as soon as possible.
No, we only accept submissions of raw, ungraded trading cards.
Please see our Shipping Guide.
No, reserve prices are not allowed for auction items. Auction listings start at £1, whatever the card values, as this builds maximum engagement, which will pay off at the end of the auction.
We do not allow bidding on your own auction items as per our Seller Terms. This practice is strictly prohibited to maintain fair auctions, and our bidding software is designed to prevent such actions.
If an auction-based listing fails to attract any bids, you will be able to list it in the next available auction. We allow up to 3 auction listings of a card. After this point, you will be unable to relist the card and will instead have the option of having it shipped back to you – at our standard shipping rate – or for us to donate it to a local community gaming initiative, Roll the Dice, as a playing card for their members.
Choosing to auto list your cards means we will enter them in the next available Weekly Auction as soon as they are processed and imaged. They will have a start price of £1, whatever the card values, as this allows for maximum engagement from our buyers. Auto listed cards may be listed at any time between an auction opening at 12pm on Friday and it being locked at 9pm on Monday.
From the time your cards are paid for, funds will normally arrive in your bank account within five working days.
If you'd like to receive funds sooner, you can switch on Instant Payouts via your Profile page under the Payments tab, which attract a 3% fee. This will allow funds to arrive in your bank account within two hours, though this is usually immediate.
